Spring arrivals

March 16, 2011

Spring is here and the latest additions to the Dysfunktional ceramix family are making their merry way out on tour for an outing to London. More precisely, these new works can be found at the Curwen Gallery at 34 Windmill Street (off Tottenham Court Road). The exhibition, a group show of small sculpture entitled ‘Small Form’, runs from 30 March – 21 April 2011

The recent exhibition ‘what condition our condition is in’ was a great winter blues buster; both well attended and received. In a break from usual ceramic works I presented two new paintings on found paintings alongside collage-photographic self-portrait work, altered postcards and found books

New Blog

December 9, 2010

Back in October I was succesful in my appliaction for AA2A (Artists Access to Art Colleges) at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The scheme is nationwide and allows artists the opportunity to access an art college in order to use facilities to enhance their work.

The AA2A scheme has a website where other AA2A atists can share images of their work, thoughts and progress on their placement, through blogs, images and message boards. The web site is visible to people who are not on the scheme so they can follow the blog posts of artists.

You can read my blog posts at http://aa2a.biz/pg/profile/peterj

Upcoming Shows & Art Fairs

July 7, 2009

Evil Boyfriend

Work from late 2008 will be on show and for sale at the Globe Gallery SUMMER ART SALE EXPO, from July 10th – August 8th 2009. Opening times are Wednesday to Saturday 11:30am – 5pm

Globe Gallery is located on the forth floor of Curtis Mayfield House in Carliol Square, Newcastle city centre. Upstairs from the legendary World Head Quarters night club.

A small selection of works will also be on show in Hangar 51 as part of the Ouseburn Trust Invitation show. Hangar 51 is located at 51 Lime Street, Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle and the show runs from July 18th – July 26th.

This show promotes the art and design skills of the Trust’s voluteers and is to coincide with both the Ouseburn Festival Weekend and NARC Festival Weekend who have an awesome line up of bands. If you see only one band that weekend I recommend checking out Chippewa Falls at Cluny_2.

Additionally some may be interested to know that this show has been curated by myself and been made possible thanks to help and support from local companies who have donated funding and supplies as well as a great team of dedicated volunteers, artists and designers and the Ouseburn Trust.

And come September the disfunktional ceramic family and me myself shall be venturing to the Manchester Affordable Art Fair for fun and frolics. Represented by the Curwen Gallery, London – new works from the Idioma Tragica Series and the Water Colour Series will be on display and up for sale at the Affordable Art Fair in Manchester from September 24th – 27th 2009. So spread the word to all Manchester based amigos y familia. Hope to see you there.

Smashing love from Peter-Ashley and the disfunktional ceramic family
